We read the Bible mainly because it shows us more of God. We don’t primarily read it as another rule book, or law.
Our challenge is to understand what God was saying to the original hearers through the different authors, at different times. We can then see in it aspects of the nature of God and the way He worked with people in the past. We can then reasonably align our lives with His ways.
